What is the difference between silicone rubber and silicone gel?

Hits: 100 img

What is organic silicon gel? It is a ground glass like, semi transparent silicone rubber with a network structure composed of polymer cross-linked compounds. It cannot be soluble in water and inorganic acids, but can be soluble in hydrofluoric acid and concentrated caustic soda solutions. What is the curing principle of silicone gel? Before curing, it is a two component process that requires a catalyst metal platinum compound. The vinyl group (or propylene group) on the silicone based adhesive will undergo an addition reaction with the silicon hydrogen group on the crosslinking agent molecule. No by-products are produced during the reaction process, and the vulcanization process does not shrink.

Once the two components of the silicon gel are mixed, the vulcanization reaction starts, and the vulcanization reaction does not occur through air moisture. What are the characteristics of silicone gel?

1. Adjustable performance, changes in cross-linking, catalyst amount, etc., can be modified according to user needs, such as changing its curing time, hardness, etc. It can be used as thermal conductive silicon gel.
2. It can produce good adhesion with most materials.
3. Before curing, there is no need to add adhesive additives, etc. The adhesive itself is very good.
4. Good repair ability, able to meet the replacement of potting components, and can use metal probes for circuit detection.
5. It can operate at a high temperature of 200 degrees Celsius and a low temperature of -60 degrees Celsius, with stable physical properties.
6. Good shock absorption effect and strong stress resistance.
7. Good liquidity.
8. Colorless transparent liquid, allowing for a clear view of the internal component structure during encapsulation.
