What are the types of low-temperature resistant silicone?

Hits: 5 img

Low temperature resistant silicone rubber refers to silicone rubber with a working temperature of -100 ℃, and its mechanism is different from conventional silicone rubber. It is obtained by introducing methyl phenyl siloxane or diphenyl siloxane chains into the molecular chain of methyl vinyl silicone rubber. Compression permanent deformation is small and the temperature range of use is wide. Below, Hongtu silicone will introduce in detail the low-temperature resistant silicone.

In addition to small compression permanent deformation, wide temperature range, oxidation resistance, weather resistance, shock resistance, moisture resistance, and good electrical insulation performance, it also has properties such as low temperature resistance, ablation resistance, and radiation resistance.

When the phenyl content (ratio of phenyl to silicon atoms) is between 5-10%, it is called low phenyl silicone rubber.
When the phenyl content is between 40-50%, it is called high phenyl silicone rubber, and it has radiation resistance. The radiation is 1xI08 Roentgen.

Low temperature resistant silicone material is one of the important materials used in the aerospace industry, cutting-edge technology, and other sectors of the national economy. It can be used for making various molded and extruded products, as a cold resistant rubber in the aviation industry, or as a seal for parts that are resistant to erosion, heat aging, and radiation.
