Nowadays, the application of silicone molds in the market is becoming increasingly widespread, and customers have many more choices. They can choose the appropriate silicone mold material for their products according to different product requirements; At present, mold silicone is mainly divided into two types: one is additive food grade mold silicone, and the other is condensed industrial grade mold silicone; Food grade mold silicone is a silicone raw material that uses a platinum system as a catalyst. It is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and odorless, and can be used in fields such as food molds or adult products; Condensed industrial grade silicone is mainly used for flipping molds of cultural stones, resin crafts, and other products. So how to distinguish between food grade silicone molds and industrial grade silicone molds?
1. Smell: Currently, there are two types of silicone molds in the industry: additive food grade silicone and condensed industrial silicone. Additive silicone is non-toxic and odorless; Condensed silicone, also known as industrial grade silicone, is not environmentally friendly and has a toxic odor. Food mold silicone is an environmentally friendly additive grade silicone that is non-toxic and odorless. Therefore, we can distinguish it by smelling the odor, and anything with an odor is definitely not food grade.
2. Look at the mixing ratio: the mixing ratio of food grade mold silicone is 1:1 or 10:1, while the mixing ratio of industrial grade silicone is 100:2 or 100:4.
3. Touch feel: Food mold silicone has good toughness and elasticity, and is not easily permanently deformed by external forces. It also feels smooth to the touch, while industrial silicone products are prone to deformation and feel rough to the touch.
