1. Oil, solvent and chemical resistance
Compared with methyl vinyl silicone rubber, fluorine silicone rubber has excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance and chemical resistance. Even compared with fluorine rubber, oil resistance and solvent resistance are good. After impregnation in the same medium, temperature and time, it shows excellent durability, it can be said that fluorosilicone rubber is the only kind of elastomer resistant to non-polar media at -68℃~232℃. The resistance of fluorine silicone rubber to methanol containing gasoline is also relatively good, even in the gasoline/methanol mixed system, the hardness, tensile strength, volume changes of its vulcanized rubber are very small, after 500h long time impregnation test, the physical properties are almost unchanged.
2. Heat resistance
The high-temperature decomposition of fluorine silicone rubber is the same as that of silicone rubber, that is, side chain oxidation, main chain fracture, side chain thermal decomposition and causing various composite reactions. Since the decomposition products can also cause the main chain to break, the heat resistance is usually worse than that of silicone rubber, and oxidation aging has begun at a temperature of 200 ° C. However, by adding a small amount of heat stabilizer such as iron, titanium, rare earth oxides, it can be significantly improved, and it has sufficient heat resistance even at 250℃ high temperature. The effect of temperature on fluorosilicone rubber is larger than that of silicone rubber, but smaller than that of fluororubber. The service life of fluorine silicone rubber at 150℃×2000h, 175℃×5000h, 200℃×4000h has been studied abroad, and the result is second only to methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
3. Cold tolerance
Fluorine silicone rubber and ordinary silicone rubber, low temperature performance is good. Because fluorine silicone rubber is a linear polymer composed of soft Si-O main chain, the low temperature characteristics are better than fluorine rubber with C-C main chain. Among them, fluorine silicone rubber (LS-2370U) has better low temperature characteristics, and the brittle temperature is as low as -89 ° C, while the general fluorine rubber is about -30 ° C.
4. Electrical performance, radiation resistance
The electrical properties of fluorosilicone rubber are similar to those of ordinary silicone rubber, but the special value is that the changes under harsh conditions such as high temperature, low temperature, humidity, oil, solvents, chemicals, and ozone are very small. The radiation resistance of fluorosilicone rubber is not outstanding, but the radiation aging resistance is better than that of methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
5. Physical and mechanical properties
Like ordinary silicone rubber, the mechanical strength (especially tearing strength) of vulcanized rubber is relatively low. Therefore, improving and increasing the strength of fluorosilicone rubber is also an important research topic.
6. Other features
The weathering resistance of fluorosilicone rubber is very good, and even after 5 years of exposure, it still maintains good performance. Ozone is one of the most formed gases during the aging of elastomers, but no cracking or cracking phenomenon was found in fluorosilicone rubber after dynamic or static tests. In addition, fluorine silicone rubber mildew resistance, physiological inertia, anticoagulation is also very good.
