Silicone rubber has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, dielectric property, ozone resistance and atmospheric aging resistance, silicone rubber outstanding performance is the use of a wide temperature, can be used in -60℃ (or lower temperature) to +250℃ (or higher temperature) for a long time. However, the tensile strength and tear strength of silicone rubber and other mechanical properties are poor, at room temperature its physical and mechanical properties are not as good as most synthetic rubber, and in addition to nitrile silicon, fluorine silicone rubber, the general silicone rubber oil resistance, solvent resistance is poor, so silicone rubber is not suitable for ordinary conditions, but very suitable for many specific occasions.
Silicone resin is mainly used as: insulating paint (including varnish, enamel paint, color paint, impregnating paint, etc.) impregnating H-class motor and transformer coil, and used to impregnate glass cloth, glass cloth wire and asbestos cloth to make motor bushing, electrical insulation winding, etc. Large area mica sheet insulation material can be prepared by bonding mica with silicone insulating paint and used as the main insulation of high voltage motor.
In addition, silicone resins can also be used as heat and weather resistant anticorrosive coatings, metal protective coatings, waterproof and moisture resistant coatings for construction engineering, release agents, adhesives and secondary processing into silicone plastics for electronic, electrical and defense industries. As a semiconductor packaging material and electronic, electrical silicone resin according to its main uses and crosslinking methods can be roughly divided into silicone insulating paint, silicone coatings, silicone plastics and silicone adhesives and other categories.
Silicone resins may include small molecules of silicone compounds, and the molecular weight need not be large. The silicone rubber must be a certain degree of molecular weight, with rubber state of polyorganosilane.
