Mechanism of ceramicized flame retardant silicone rubber:
When silicone rubber is burned at high temperatures, it cracks and decomposes to form silicon dioxide. Because the silica has no bonding ability, after adding the appropriate silicate refractory filler in powder form, the silica generated by the decomposition of silicone rubber reacts with the refractory filler, forming a "low eutectic mixture" at the edge of the filler. The eutectic material acts as a bridge between the silica particles and the filler particles, thus curing them at the ignition temperature and forming a condensed ceramide when cooled. The ceramic body is self-supporting and can withstand certain mechanical shock and vibration.
