Generally speaking, silica gel can be divided into two categories of organic silica gel and inorganic silica gel according to its properties and components. Inorganic silica gel is a kind of highly active adsorption material, which is usually prepared by the reaction of sodium silicate and sulfuric acid, and a series of post-treatment processes such as aging and acid bubble. Silica gel is an amorphous substance and its chemical formula is mSiO2. nH2O. Insoluble in water and any solvent, non-toxic and tasteless, chemically stable, in addition to strong alkali, hydrofluoric acid does not react with any substance. Various types of silica gel form different micropore structures due to their different manufacturing methods. The chemical composition and physical structure of silica gel determines that it has the characteristics that many other similar materials are difficult to replace: high adsorption performance, good thermal stability, stable chemical properties, and high mechanical strength. Silica gel according to the size of its pore size is divided into: large pore silica gel, coarse pore silica gel, B type silica gel, fine pore silica gel. Because of the different pore structures, their adsorption properties have their own characteristics. Coarse porous silica gel has a higher adsorption capacity in the case of high relative humidity, and the adsorption capacity of fine porous silica gel is higher than that of coarse porous silica gel in the case of low relative humidity, and the adsorption capacity of B-type silica gel is also between thick and fine pores due to the pore structure. Macroporous silica gel is generally used as catalyst carrier, matting agent, toothpaste abrasive and so on. Therefore, different varieties should be selected according to different uses.

There are many categories of silicone products, which can be roughly divided into five categories, namely:
1. The most commonly used high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber are methyl vinyl silicone rubber, cold resistant phenyl silicone rubber, oil resistant, solvent resistant fluorine silicone rubber and nitrile silicone rubber, radiation resistant benzylene silicone rubber and so on. For the convenience of use, the compound is often prepared and provided to the user.
2. Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber has two components and one group according to the packaging form. The two components are divided into methyl, phenyl, nitrile-silicane, fluoro-silicane and phenylene. The single component is divided into deacid type, dealcohol type, deoxime type, deamine type, deamide type, deketone type and so on.
3. Silicone oil can be divided into methyl silicone oil, ethyl silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, amino silicone oil, methyl hydrogen silicone oil, chlorophenyl silicone oil, fluorine silicone oil, nitrile silicone oil, long chain paraffin silicone oil, diffusion pump oil and modified silicone oil. There is a large amount of silicone oil processing products, that is, silicone oil emulsion, such as fabric treatment agent is an example.
4. Silicone resin according to the composition can be divided into methyl silicone resin, methyl phenyl silicone resin; According to the form can be divided into solvent-based, solvent-free. Silicone resins are also used for coating, molding powder and modification.
5. Silane coupling agents are classified according to functional groups, silane coupling agents mainly include vinyl silane, amino silane, epoxy silane, sulfhydryl silane and methylacryloxy silane.
