It is also used as an additive in the production of personal protective equipment, wear-resistant coatings, paints, defoamers, and more.
One important use of methyl MQ silicone resin is as a raw material for the preparation of organic silicon pressure-sensitive adhesives. It is also widely used in reinforcing fillers, organic silicon defoamers, anti adhesives, high-temperature resistant coatings, release agents, and other fields of silicone rubber. Ethylene based MQ silicone resin is used as a reinforcing filler in adhesive silicone rubber, transparent silicone rubber, potting materials, LED packaging materials, and other adhesives.
MQ silicone resin can be used as a reinforcing filler in silicone rubber to improve its mechanical strength, cohesive strength, peel strength, and high temperature resistance. In addition formed vulcanized silicone rubber, MQ silicone resin containing vinyl groups can chemically bond with the raw rubber by reacting with SiH crosslinking agent to form a three-dimensional network structure for reinforcement. With the increase of MQ silicone resin dosage, the hardness, tensile strength, tear strength, adhesive performance, and crosslinking density of silicone rubber gradually increase to their optimal values.
In the field of pressure-sensitive adhesives, MQ silicone resin mainly plays a role in increasing adhesion and strengthening. Organic silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives are prepared by condensation reactions with hydroxyl groups of silicone rubber or with hydrogen containing siloxanes and silicone rubber under the action of catalysts.
In addition, MQ silicone resin can also be used to prepare high-temperature and strong alkali resistant organic silicon defoamers, which also have the advantages of non toxicity and environmental protection. By adding high viscosity hydroxy silicone oil and MQ silicone resin to synthesize highly branched network polymers, the high temperature and strong alkali resistance of defoamers can be improved.
In terms of packaging materials, MQ silicone resin containing SiH or arylalkyl groups was used as a crosslinking agent, and under the action of platinum catalyst, a phenyl containing silicone resin packaging material was synthesized with silicone resin containing vinyl and high phenyl groups. The material has good compatibility and transparency, high hardness, and high refractive index, and can be used for LED packaging and lens production.
