Because of the small surface tension of dimethyl silicone oil, and insoluble in water, good chemical stability, non-toxic, as a defoamer has been widely used in petroleum, chemical, medical, pharmaceutical, food processing, textile, printing and dyeing, paper and other industries. The secondary processing of silicone oil can also produce defoamer emulsions for use in water-based systems.
