The radiation resistance of silicone rubber increased with the increase of phenyl content, which was much stronger than that of methyl vinyl silicone rubber without phenyl. This is due to the strong anti-irradiation ability of phenyl group. At the same time, the ablative resistance of phenyl silicone rubber was compared with that of methyl vinyl silicone rubber, but the ablative resistance of medium phenyl silicone rubber was the highest. This is due to the thin and solid carbon layer on the surface after ablation, which prevents further ablation. Lai Liangqing et al. studied the effect of phenyl on the combustion behavior of silicone rubber by using oxygen index, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis, and pointed out that with the increase of phenyl content in silicone rubber, oxygen index and thermal decomposition temperature increased. Increasing the content of phenyl is conducive to the formation of carbon in the combustion process of silicone rubber, thus improving the flame retardant property.
