PHPS coating - Application of optical film

PHPS is often used to manufacture optical films, and by combining with modified raw materials, composite materials can be used for optical film preparation. A method for preparing a low refractive index film by combining PHPS with at least one organic polymer selected from silazane, siloxoxane and urea-silazane. By mixing the PHPS solution with the fluoropolymer solution and coating, the silica optical film with high strength, oleic acid resistance and easy sliding was prepared. The xylene solution of PHPS was used as the precursor to prepare the SP doped silica coating. With the conversion of PHPS to silica, the film changes from transparent light yellow to red, and the absorbance increases at 500 nm. After exposure treatment, the film color deepens and exhibits reversible photochromic properties, proving its potential for optical film applications.

In addition to the type of raw material, the preparation method also has an important effect on the properties of optical films. Nakagawa et al. prepared organic-inorganic hybrid films converted from PHPS by sol-gel method and applied them to the active layer of OLED, showing excellent electroluminescence properties. Lee et al. spin coated HPS layer on Si (100) by dibutyl ether solution, and then prepared dense silicon oxide crosslinked layer in water or hydrogen peroxide by 405 nm UV irradiation, demonstrating the effect of preparation process on stoichiometric ratio and refractive index. Baek et al. treated HPS with intense pulsed ultraviolet light (IPL) in an air environment and at low temperatures to prepare the SiOx layer, which showed similar conversion and refractive index to the heat-treated silica layer, demonstrating the potential application of the IPL process in the optical thin film industry. These studies show that the properties of optical films can be significantly affected by adjusting the raw materials and preparation methods, and provide diversified ways for the preparation of optical films.
