Polysilazanes (PSZ) is a class of polymeric compounds with silicon (Si) and nitrogen (N) as the main backbone elements and has unique chemical and physical properties. It can be used as a precursor material for ceramics, as well as coatings, adhesives and functional composites. Polysilazane is able to convert to Silicon nitride (Si N₄) or silicon carbide nitrogen (SiCN) ceramics at high temperatures, and therefore has important applications in the manufacture of high temperature, oxidation and high strength materials.
Characteristics of ceramic precursor
