The vulcanization process of liquid silicone rubber is a key technology in materials science, which gives liquid silicone rubber excellent elasticity and durability.

Vulcanization, in short, is the process of adding crosslinking additives such as vulcanizing agent and accelerator to liquid silicone rubber, and transforming linear macromolecules into three-dimensional network structures under certain temperature and pressure conditions. For liquid silicone rubber, this process is mainly achieved through the catalytic addition of methyl vinyl rubber and hydrogen-containing silicone oil (crosslinking agent) containing at least three hydrosilyl groups. Before vulcanization, liquid silicone rubber is usually divided into A and B components, which are mixed evenly in a certain proportion when used. The catalyst is added to component A, and both components A and B contain inhibitors to ensure that the liquid silicone rubber has almost no vulcanization reaction at room temperature, and the vulcanization rate is rapidly increased at high temperatures.

Vulcanization temperature is a key factor in the vulcanization process of liquid silicone rubber. With the increase of temperature, the vulcanization reaction is accelerated, and more low sulfur crosslinking bonds are generated, which makes the product performance more stable. At the mold temperature of 170~220℃, silicone rubber curing reaction, can form an elastic body in a short time. In addition, the vulcanization pressure is also an important factor to ensure the geometric size, structural density and physical and mechanical properties of rubber parts.
