Precautions for making silicone rubber molds

Using silicone raw materials to make molds is a common mold flipping process, and there are many precautions to pay attention to during the production process. Here are five common precautions:

1. Component B is a catalyst that is prone to hydrolysis due to moisture, so the lid should be tightly closed after use.

2. Once mixed, groups A and B undergo a chemical reaction; Immediately start, the viscosity gradually increases and cannot be stopped. To avoid waste, it should be used according to the dosage and prepared as needed. After preparation, it should be used immediately without delay.

3. The mix ratio of groups A and B is related to the speed of chemical reactions and the performance of the mold. The more component B, the faster the reaction, the higher the strength and hardness of the product, but the lower the toughness. Therefore, accurate weighing is required.

4. Before preparation, component A should be evenly stirred up and down before weighing.

5. The pouring method is suitable for the production of relief molds, while the brushing method is suitable for the production of three-dimensional molds. For casting relief molds, a frame with a length and width greater than the original length and width of 4-6 cm should be made first. The border should be flat and the inner surface should be smooth. Place the frame on a clean glass plate during pouring, and then place the original component in the frame, leaving a gap of 2-3CM on each side.
