What is raw rubber?

Hits: 201 img

Raw rubber is the abbreviation of methyl vinyl silicone rubber, which is copolymerized by dimethylsiloxane and a small amount of vinyl siloxane. The vinyl content is generally 0.04%~0.3% (Mole fraction), the appearance is transparent, and the fluidity is excellent. It is the basic raw material for producing mixed silicone rubber. The vinyl content of commonly used methyl vinyl silicone rubber is 0.04, 0.08, 0.16, 0.24, etc, It is produced using materials with different vinyl content based on the different properties of blended silicone rubber.

After adding reinforcing fillers (precipitated/fumed silica) and additives, raw rubber can crosslink to form elastomers at high temperatures, and can be used to manufacture various mixed rubber products such as molding adhesive, extrusion adhesive, electrical insulation adhesive, flame retardant adhesive, etc.

Application of raw rubber

1. Silicone rubber: the basic raw material for producing blended silicone rubber;
2. Chemical industry: carrier of vulcanizing agent and color masterbatch for mixed rubber;
3. Silicone masterbatch: a release agent for thermoplastic elastomers;
4. Pressure sensitive adhesive;
5. Textile additives
