Silicone rubber for sealing electronic components

Hits: 135 img

Silicone rubber has high thermal stability and excellent low-temperature performance, which can maintain softness, resilience, surface hardness, and mechanical properties within the temperature range of -60~260 ℃. In addition, they also have excellent electrical insulation, weather resistance, ozone resistance, and breathability, and are non-toxic and odorless. Some silicone rubber with special structures also have excellent properties such as oil resistance, solvent resistance, and radiation resistance.

Single component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber has good adhesion to various materials such as metals, glass, ceramics, and plastics. It is particularly convenient to use and generally does not require weighing, stirring, defoaming, and other operations. It is particularly suitable for sealing, caulking, and other purposes, making it an ideal material for sealing electronic components. The vulcanization rate depends on the vulcanization system, relative humidity and temperature of the environment, as well as the thickness of the adhesive layer. Increasing the temperature and humidity of the environment can accelerate the vulcanization process. Usually, at 25 ℃ and a relative humidity of 50% RH, the surface of silicone rubber can have no adhesion after 15-30 minutes. Due to its dependence on moisture in the atmosphere and its diffusion rate within the adhesive layer, the layered pouring and gradual vulcanization method can be used when the thickness of the adhesive layer is large.
