Methyl vinyl phenyl silicone rubber, also known as methyl vinyl phenyl polysiloxane rubber, is made by introducing diphenyl siloxane links (or methyl phenyl siloxane links) into the molecular chains of vinyl silicone rubber. This is achieved by introducing a large volume of phenyl to disrupt the regularity of the dimethylsiloxane structure, reducing the crystallization temperature and glass transition temperature of the polymer.

Classification:

Low phenyl silicone rubber
When the phenyl content is 5-10% (the ratio of phenyl to silicon atoms), it is commonly referred to as low phenyl silicone rubber. At this time, the hardening temperature of the rubber is reduced to the lowest value (-115 ℃), making it have the best low-temperature resistance and still have flexible elasticity at -100 ℃.

Medium phenyl silicone rubber
With the increase of phenyl content, the rigidity of the molecular chain increases, and its crystallization temperature actually increases. When the phenyl content is between 15-25%, it is commonly referred to as medium phenyl silicone rubber and has flame resistance characteristics.

High phenyl silicone rubber
When the phenyl content is above 30%, it is commonly referred to as high phenyl silicone rubber and has excellent radiation resistance. Phenyl silicone rubber is used in applications that require low temperature resistance, ablation resistance, high energy radiation resistance, and insulation. Due to processing difficulties and poor physical and mechanical properties, the production and application of medium and high phenyl silicone rubbers are limited.
