Special silicone phenyl silicone rubber

Hits: 79 img

Phenyl silicone rubber is a new type of silicone rubber material developed internationally to meet the increasing requirements for high and low temperature resistance. It is formed by introducing phenyl on the side group of polysiloxane, and modifying the methyl phenyl tricyclic group (A3), methyl mixed ring group (DMC), and vinyl ring group (VMC) through ring opening polymerization. Its temperature resistance range is extended from -60 ℃ -280 ℃ of existing methyl vinyl silicone rubber to -95 ℃ -350 ℃, Simultaneously expanding the upper and lower limits of high and low temperature resistance. Phenyl silicone rubber not only has all the advantages of methyl vinyl silicone rubber, but also has excellent properties such as low temperature resistance, ablation resistance, radiation resistance, and self extinguishing. It is one of the important materials for military industry, aerospace, and cutting-edge technology. Can be used as various molded and extruded products for sealing rings, gaskets, pipes, bars, etc. in cold and burn resistant, heat aging resistant, and radiation resistant areas. It can also be used to make various special purpose products, such as damping materials, pressure sensitive adhesives, etc.

Basic classification of phenyl silicone rubber:

Low phenyl silicone rubber
When the phenyl content is 5-10% (the ratio of phenyl to silicon atoms), it is commonly referred to as low phenyl silicone rubber. At this time, the hardening temperature of the rubber is reduced to the lowest value (-115 ℃), making it have the best low-temperature resistance and still have flexible elasticity at -100 ℃.

Medium phenyl silicone rubber
With the increase of phenyl content, the rigidity of the molecular chain increases, and its crystallization temperature actually increases. When the phenyl content is between 15-25%, it is commonly referred to as medium phenyl silicone rubber and has flame resistance characteristics.

High phenyl silicone rubber
When the phenyl content is above 30%, it is commonly referred to as high phenyl silicone rubber and has excellent radiation resistance. Phenyl silicone rubber is used in applications that require low temperature resistance, ablation resistance, high energy radiation resistance, and insulation.
