What is RTV?

Hits: 115 img

RTV refers to room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, generally including two types of condensation type and addition type. The condensation type room temperature vulcanization silicone rubber is characterized by a condensation reaction between a silanol group and other active materials, and can be crosslinked into an elastomeric silicone rubber at room temperature. The product is divided into a single component package and a two component package. form. The addition molding room temperature glue is based on a linear polysiloxane having a vinyl group as a crosslinking agent, and a hydrogen siloxane is used as a crosslinking agent, and a crosslinking reaction occurs at room temperature to a medium temperature in the presence of a catalyst to become an elastomer.
Another abbreviation of RTV is: RTV, also known as room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, its good water repellency and hydrophobic migration make it have excellent anti-fouling performance and many characteristics, and it has become a power system to solve the problem of outdoor porcelain insulation equipment. The best solution to the flash problem has exerted obvious economic and social benefits. However, its outdoor exposure to climatic conditions and the influence of strong electromagnetic field environment will gradually weaken the anti-pollution ability.

Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber generally includes two types of condensation type and addition type.

It has good heat resistance, water repellency and electrical insulation, and it has excellent physical and mechanical properties due to the introduction of active end groups, especially in terms of tensile strength, relative elongation and tear strength. Improvement. It is suitable for a variety of vulcanization methods, such as radiation vulcanization, peroxide vulcanization and addition vulcanization, widely used in heat, moisture, electrical insulation, high strength silicone rubber products.

The condensation type room temperature vulcanization silicone rubber is characterized by a condensation reaction between a silanol group and other active materials, and can be crosslinked into an elastomeric silicone rubber at room temperature. The product is divided into a single component package and a two component package. form. One-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (RTV-1 glue for short) is one of the main products in condensed liquid silicone rubber. Usually formulated from base polymers, crosslinkers, catalysts, fillers and additives. The product is packaged in a sealed hose. It is extruded during use and can be vulcanized into an elastomer after contact with air. It is extremely convenient to use. Vulcanized rubber can be used for a long time in the temperature range of (–60~+200°C). It has excellent electrical insulation properties and chemical stability. It is resistant to water, ozone and weathering. It has good adhesion to various metal and non-metal materials. Connectivity. Mainly used for the coating of various electronic components and electrical equipment, the encapsulation material is insulated, moisture-proof and shockproof; as a surface protection material for semiconductor devices; it can also be used as a sealant and elastic adhesive.

2 use method editing
1, Selection of varieties and compounding of two-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber compound can be made from a low-viscosity product that flows easily to a thixotropic or putty-type product that does not flow. Therefore, when using, the appropriate variety should be selected according to the technical requirements and shape of the parts. For the encapsulating parts, the rubber compound shall be of a pourable type; appropriate cross-linking agents and catalysts shall be selected according to the construction requirements and environmental conditions, and the appropriate amount shall be controlled to vulcanize the products at different times. If the choice is not appropriate, the deployment is unreasonable, and it may be abandoned.

The cross-linking agent and the catalyst are added into the rubber compound according to a certain ratio, and the mixing can be carried out in the rubberizer or in the original packaging drum; the small amount can also be mixed in a clean and dry cup or barrel, using manual or mechanical Stirring can meet the requirements, but do not stir a lot of air, and do not stir too strong, leading to accelerated heating and vulcanization. Vacuum degassing should be carried out after mixing, and vacuum degassing or pressure treatment should be carried out after injecting the tightly packed parts. After the cross-linking body is added, the cross-linking will gradually thicken and finally vulcanize into a three-dimensional network elastomer. Therefore, the preparation of the parts to be constructed should be done before construction, and the glue should be used up as soon as possible. The user should make a good estimate based on the depth and area of the construction components, and cause waste due to excessive material shortage. In order to extend the service life, the mixed rubber can be transferred to a cooling cabinet for storage.

2, vulcanization at 23 ° C -30 ° C temperature vulcanization, can obtain the standard vulcanization rate, increase the temperature can speed up the vulcanization rate, but should not exceed 65 ° C; vulcanization rate is also related to humidity, exposure to high humidity air can accelerate the vulcanization rate.

3, the consistency of the adjustment to adapt to the process requirements, when thickening the rubber, you can mix some thickeners (such as silica, calcium carbonate, diatomaceous earth, quartz powder and mica powder, etc.). High consistency rubber is generally used as putty; when it is necessary to reduce the consistency of the rubber, low-molecular weight silicone oil with good compatibility or the same structure type can be added as a diluent; if it is sprayed, the rubber can be diluted with organic solvent. Commonly used solvent oil toluene, xylene, etc., the fluoroalkyl group in the side chain needs to use a diluent such as lactone.

4, coating vulcanized RTV-2 vulcanization when there are by-products (such as methanol, ethanol, Et2NOH, H2, etc., they need to diffuse from the inside of the vulcanized rubber to the surface escape. In the deep concern, because by-products can not be released in time, will In order to solve this problem, the layered perfusion method is adopted in the process, and the by-products are advantageously separated from the rubber layer in time, but the operation is troublesome. If a small amount of vulcanization accelerator, such as phosphoric acid glycerin and metal salt, is added to the rubber compound, etc. , there is no need to layer infusion.
