Silicone rubber has unique comprehensive properties, especially its biocompatibility is a key characteristic. (2) Electronics and Electrical Industry
Electronics and electrical industry is a field in which silicone rubber is the earliest used as insulating material and has a large demand. Silicone rubber is mainly used for TV anode cover, high voltage protective cover, high voltage lead-out wire, refrigerator defroster wire, power or signal transmission wire and cable, etc. Insulators made of silicone rubber will be widely used in transmission lines, especially in ultra-high voltage lines, instead of ceramic products. Conductive silicone rubber is used for electrical contacts of electronic computers, telephones and other instruments and LCD contacts. Silicone rubber has been widely used in the sealing of pumps for dishwashers and washing machines because of its heat-resistant detergent properties. Silicone rubber is very suitable for gaskets on coffee pots, electric frying pans and steam irons. Silicone rubber is used instead of ear and head pads for stereo headphones, which can eliminate external noise and is soft and comfortable.

(3) Aerospace Industry
Silicone rubber is an indispensable high-performance material in the aerospace industry. It can withstand the super-cold in space and the heat returning to the atmosphere, prolong the life of aircraft parts, reduce maintenance costs and reduce accidents. It is mainly used for hole seals, electrical connectors, sealing switches, dust and water shields, gasket gaskets, O-type sealing rings for jet engines and hydraulic devices, oxygen masks, control diaphragms, hot air conduits and radar wireless shock absorbers. Burning resistant silicone rubber is suitable for coating rocket fuel valves, power source cables and rocket launcher covers to avoid burning of rocket jet flow. (4) Construction Industry
Silicone rubber has good weatherability and constructability. It has been widely used as a bonding sealant in the construction industry, surpassing other types of sealants. In recent years, two-component sealant with low modulus and high elongation has been developed, which is used for large-scale components such as concrete prefabricates and curtain walls with large joint movement. Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is also used for sealing asbestos cement board joints, bathroom brick seams and toilet appliances. With the decrease of rubber price in the future, the application scope will be further expanded, such as replacing asphalt and chloroprene rubber in the application of highway joints. High temperature vulcanized silicone rubber sponge strips are used as sealing inserts for doors and windows of buildings.

(5) Medical field
Silicone rubber has good biocompatibility, small response to the body, stable performance, low blood coagulation, can withstand high temperature and high pressure cooking for many times, and can be processed into products of various shapes, such as film, sponge, airbag, is currently the most widely used material in medicine.
Silicone rubber has excellent resistance to high and low temperature, ozone, oxygen, light and weather aging, excellent electrical insulation, special surface properties, physiological inertia and high permeability, and is widely used. However, the tensile strength and tear strength of silicone rubber are relatively low, acid and alkali resistance is poor, and the processing performance of complex products is also poor. In recent years, many countries in the world have carried out a lot of improvement research work for this purpose, and achieved some results.
