The application of silica gel in the automotive industry is growing rapidly. Silica gel (especially silica gel with various characteristics) can be resistant to the erosion of fuel oil and lubricating oil, improve the performance of automobile parts and reduce maintenance costs. It can be used for automobile ignition line, spark plug protective cover, hose for heating and radiator, muffler lining, battery connector and fuel pump made of fluorine silicone. With the development of vehicle electronic electrification, room temperature curing silica gel is widely used in electronic parts, electrical assembly parts of the pouring sealant, windshield glass, car body around the seal and mirror bonding sealant.

Electronics, electrical industry

Electronics and electrical industry is the earliest use of silica gel as insulating material, a larger demand for a field. Silica gel is mainly used for TV anode cover, high voltage protective cover, high voltage lead line, refrigerator defroster wire, power or signal transmission wire and cable. Insulators made of silica gel will be widely used in transmission lines, especially ultra high voltage lines, instead of ceramics. Conductive silica gel is used for electrical contacts of electronic computers, telephones and other instruments and liquid crystal display contacts. Flame retardant and radiation resistant silicone made of wire, cable is widely used in energy power stations. Silica gel heating sheet and heating belt are used to control the working temperature of a variety of precision instruments and oil pipelines, and are used as heating blanket for physiotherapy hot packs in medical treatment. Room temperature solidified silica gel can be used as waterproof, moisture-proof and shockproof potting material.

Silica gel has been widely used in the pump seal of dishwasher and washing machine because of its heat-resistant washing liquid performance. Silica gel is ideal for gaskets on appliances such as coffee pans, electric fryers and steam irons. The padding of the ear and head of stereo earphone is silica gel, which can eliminate the external noise and is soft and comfortable.
