Flame retardant silica gel is a kind of silicone material with excellent flame retardant properties, which is widely used in electrical, electronic, automotive and other fields. Its flame retardant principle is mainly through the addition of flame retardants in silicone raw materials, and a series of reactions occur to achieve the flame retardant effect, such as the following reactions:

The production process of flame retardant silicone generally includes the following steps:
Ingredients: The silica gel raw materials (such as polydimethylsiloxane, silicate, etc.) and flame retardants (such as chlorine, phosphorus compounds, inorganic flame retardants, etc.) in proportion to mix.
Mixing: Through the high shear force mixer, to ensure that the flame retardant evenly dispersed into the silicone matrix, to ensure the stability of the performance of the material.
Forming: The stirred mixture is passed through the casting process so that it flows evenly and forms the desired thickness and width. The temperature and speed of the casting machine are well controlled, and the mixture is processed into the desired shape by extrusion, injection molding, molding, etc.
Vulcanization: The silicone is vulcanized at high temperatures to cure and form a solid structure with high elasticity and heat resistance.
